My father died from cancer in 1995. It came on so fast that we hardly had time to dwell on the diagnosis before he was gone. Even with health insurance, the bills that hit my mother’s mailbox over the next few months crushed her savings. We tried to help her but it was still more than we all had together.

What I did not know then was that a cancer policy would have paid all those bills. Honestly, I did not know a cancer policy existed. My folks had been faithfully trusting their agent for years, and he did his best I am sure, but standard medical insurance just falls short, then and now. I wish then that we had known about Aflac’s supplementary policies.
When I became an Aflac associate, the first thing I did was to purchase a cancer policy for my wife and me. If the worst happens and we face that awful fight, Aflac will provide cash up front so that bills get paid & groceries are bought. It is enough to fight cancer anyway, but I will not make my family suffer even more just to endure financial woes to boot.
